Last night in the USA...

I am in Washington D.C. getting ready to fall asleep for the last time in the States for a very long time! Today we started our Staging event, which is basically the rules, guidelines, and what to expect for the next few days. I have met a lot of great people I will surely get to know far better in the next few months.

Since moving home (Springfield) last Wednesday I have been shopping, packing, and sorting what I will take with me for the next two years.

On Saturday night, my family rented out the Beach House in Springfield for my going away party. (They are too good to me). And my mom's work friend John, gave up Mardi Gras to come and cater. He made some awesome Ecuadorian inspired dishes.

They had me hit a Pinata and we played Spanish Bananagrams and visited with each other...great!

Last night (Tuesday) I was packing until 11:30pm in Springfield. Then said my last goodbyes and Steve drove me to Chicago where I caught the 8:00am flight to DC. Even sitting here, I don't feel prepared...oh well...I'M GOING TO ECUADOR!!!!!!!!!

You managed the last few days in the States so well. Between work, fare well parties, organizing personal effects, selling things, buying things, packing up and saying good bye to your family, you did such a great job! I'd say that you earned a vacation from all that you accomplished, but unfortunately there is no time for that... Off to Ecuador you go!

Well, I stalked your flight on line and saw that you landed on time OK. I'm sure you will be very busy as we try to get this communication thing figured out. :) I will mail your webcam at lunch today to the address listed on this blog. Yah! Mail on the way! luv ya!
